UHF Channel Information
Notes about use of CB Channels:
Citizen's Band (CB) is a government allocated range of frequencies on which ordinary Australians can communicate without the need for a licence. In doing so there are some important things to remember. Not every channel is there for you to play on. Some channels have very important roles, for instance channels 1-8 & 31-38 are coupled to provide repeater services. Channels 5 & 35 are allocated by the Australian Government for use as emergency channels and should be kept clear at all times. These channels are monitored for emergency puposes.
As at January 2007 the maximum penalties for the misuse of the legally allocated CB emergency channels are:
Note also that the maximum transmission power allowed when using CB is 5 watts.
